From building site to mature garden

 

Before...
 
The building of a swimming pool over the winter had inevitably made a mess of the garden.
...after...  
The planting of a mixture of mature shrubs screened the new building from the house. All the planting involved a lot of preparation work to turn a building site into beds suitable for planting.

This screening will eventually grow together to form a mixed hedge.

The south-western side of the building has stunning views and an ornamental bed was required here. However the site is extremely windy and it was very important to choose plants that could withstand this exposed position.

 

 

 
All of the spoil that had been dug out to create the pool had been levelled out over the garden. In order to re-instate the grass we had to import 40 tons of topsoil which needed to be spread out, levelled and then seeded.
